Tottenham are earning all sorts of plaudits for their performances this season, and rightfully so.
The north London club have been utterly brilliant so far this term under Ange Postecoglou. They’ve played a brilliant brand of attacking football, and they’ve been a joy to watch.
Almost to a man, every single player at Tottenham has been bang at it this season, but there’s still one player who doesn’t seem to be on an upward trajectory.
Sadly, we’re talking about Richarlison.
The Brazilian still isn’t in his groove at Tottenham, and speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Steve Sidwell has singled the attacker out as a player who isn’t good enough.

Richarlison the only Spurs player lacking
Sidwell gave his verdict on the forward.
“There’s one player for Spurs who’s still trying and it just isn’t going his way and that’s Richarlison for me. He’s the only one that is just the missing piece,” Sidwell said.
“Richarlison at the moment, the fans want him to do it, but they’re slowly losing patience. He’s the only one, but what a game it’s going to be.”
Could be dropped
Sidwell is right, Richarlison hasn’t been good enough this season, so much so that we have to wonder if his place in the team is in danger.
Brennan Johnson is back fit and raring to go, while Manor Solomon will also be back before long. Competition on that left wing is heating up, and Richarlison may not have what it takes to keep hold of his spot.
It’s a shame because there is a talented player in there as we saw at Watford and Everton, but, so far, he just hasn’t gotten to grips with life at Tottenham.
Richarlison needs to improve if he wants to make a real impact at Spurs.
