‘He’s crazy’…Declan Rice says £30m Arsenal player is constantly winding other players up

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been speaking about some of his teammates again and admitted Oleksandr Zinchenko is ‘crazy’.

Zinchenko was signed by the Gunners for around £30m and has had a big impact on the club. He’s been praised ever since he arrived, with the Ukrainian apparently setting standards at the club.

However, beyond his serious exterior there is a big character in there when it comes to Zinchenko.

And speaking to the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, Declan Rice has admitted that Zinchenko is indeed a top character behind the scenes.

Speaking about his Arsenal teammate, Rice’s face lit up when asked who was the biggest character in the Arsenal squad.

“Biggest character for sure is Zinchenko. He’s crazy. He’s so funny I’d probably say he’s the joker of the team and I think the other lads would say that as well. Constantly winding up people but the vibes are very good in the changing room to be fair,” Rice said.

Zinchenko’s form had dipped a touch earlier on in the season but he remains a key player for the Gunners and Mikel Arteta.

One of the best signings

A lot has been made of the signings of both Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus and it’s pretty clear the pair have made a huge impact on things at The Emirates.

Zinchenko was always going to be a good signing by Mikel Arteta. However, even the Arsenal boss would probably admit that he didn’t think he’d quite have the impact he has off the field.

At £30m, the Ukrainian is very much a bargain buy in the current market. His ability to play in a number of positions helps massively, while it’s obvious he has a big influence in the dressing room.

Arsenal’s success under Arteta will likely hinge on a few big players doing the business. Zinchenko is one of them, 100%.
