Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou knows he has a fine squad to choose from at the moment in the battle to finish fourth.

Spurs take on Aston Villa this weekend in what could be a crunch tie and the Tottenham boss knows he has some big decisions to make.

Pedro Porro should be back in contention, and while Postecoglou has bankers in his starting XI like Heung-Min Son and Cristian Romero, some of the other positions are more open to debate in terms of who gets the start.

One of those positions is the right-sided forward spot, where both Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski have done well. Johnson has sprung into life in recent weeks too, contributing on more than one occasion with big moments.

And speaking about the former Nottingham Forest man, Postecoglou admitted to Football.London that he’s really impressed with the growth shown by Johnson this season.

“I don’t know about difficult decisions. They’re easy decisions. The good thing about Brennan is he’s contributing. Overall his year we’ve seen growth in him playing in a way that is different for him. They’re all there in front of me with the opportunity to start or not start,” Postecoglou said.

Brennan Johnson is getting better and better

Some people raised eyebrows when Spurs splashed out north of £40m on Brenna Johnson but you have to say he is doing well under Ange.

His speed and directness make him a valuable asset for the Tottenham boss and he’s shown recently that he’s now adding the final product to his game as well.

For Tottenham, it was always going to be vital they signed players who could replace some of the goals and assists lost from the sale of Harry Kane. Johnson, in his own way, has helped with that.

Over time, still just being 22, Johnson should prove a shrewd signing by Tottenham and there’s plenty more to come from him you feel.
