Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Pedro Porro will be available to face Aston Villa this weekend.

The Spurs boss was speaking to Tottenham’s official media channels ahead of the huge clash with Unai Emery’s side and was quickly asked about Porro.

The Spanish full-back has missed the last couple through injury.

But according to Ange, Porro is now back training and ready to be considered once again against Villa this weekend.

“Sort of from last week everyone got through and is available and Pedro has trained as well so he’s available,” Postecoglou said.

Pedro Porro back for Tottenham v Aston Villa

Few players have really come as much as Pedro Porro has since Tottenham set Postecoglou on as manager.

Since signing for around £40m, Porro has always shown potential and even under Antonio Conte, there were moments when it was obvious he had talent.

But under ‘Big Ange’, Porro has thrived at wing-back and looks like one of the very best in Europe right now in his position.

Porro being back to face Villa is a huge boost for Tottenham and Postecoglou. His attacking ability down the right and then what he delivers when he gets to the final third is a big plus.

Huge game

There are some massive games this weekend in English football and Aston Villa v Tottenham is just one of them.

The Championship sees Sheffield Wednesday take on Leeds, while we know that Manchester City v Liverpool is the other one to dominate headlines this weekend.

But for Tottenham, this clash with Villa is enormous.

A win for Villa would put them eight clear of Spurs and surely open up a gap too big for them to chase down. However, three points for Tottenham puts them within touching distance and suddenly the race for fourth is wide open.

Tottenham, then, need to ensure they take something from this game at the very least. And having Pedro Porro back gives them a much better chance of doing that.
