William Saliba says Oleksandr Zinchenko is ‘class with the ball’

Arsenal signed Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City last year in a deal worth £32 million (Sky Sports).

The Ukrainian had an instant impact at the Emirates, playing a key part in helping the Gunners become serious title contenders.

Zinchenko’s form hasn’t been the greatest this season, but he still has the respect of every one of his teammates at Arsenal, including William Saliba.

The Frenchman, after comparing Gabriel Martinelli to a ‘fast’ Audi, was asked to pick a car for Zinchenko. He went with a classy choice for a classy player.

He said: “Zinchenko…what car I can give him?! Class G – the G-Wagon – Mercedes, the big one.

“Because he’s class with the ball, so elegant as well. He’s good.”

Zinchenko needs to step up for Arsenal

Arsenal are still unbeaten in the Premier League and are currently just two points behind league leaders Tottenham Hotspur in the table.

However, it has to be said that the Gunners are still stuck in first gear. The fluidity in their attack is almost non-existent, they aren’t able to create much centrally, and if their wide players are restricted, they look clueless.

One player who always popped up in central areas to help Arsenal break through defences last season was Zinchenko. The Ukrainian is brilliant in that role, but he hasn’t been at his best so far this season.

Zinchenko needs to step up now. If he doesn’t, Takehiro Tomiyasu, who has been brilliant over the last few weeks, will take his place in the side.
