'He's a bit different': Paratici says player who's never scored for Spurs is actually really good at shooting
It’s been a busy window for Antonio Conte’s side, making eight new additions to the squad.
Several of these players have already made an instant impact.
Others, such as Destiny Udogie, are additions with more long-term ambitions, although the young wing-back has impressed this season.
One of the players Paratici spoke about was new midfielder Yves Bissouma.
The 26-year-old joined from Brighton in the summer and has already made his full debut.
The Italian was full of praise for the holding midfielder, but revealed one of his attributes that Spurs fans have yet to see.
Paratici revealed that he’s a big fan of Bissouma shooting, and is impressed with the Mali international’s ability to strike a ball.
Paratici impressed with Bissouma’s shooting
Bissouma has only played just over 100 minutes of football for Spurs and has yet to have a shot on target.
However, Paratici believes Bissouma has a lot more to offer in the shooting department.
“Bissouma has some different skills to our midfielders.” Paratici said.
“He’s better in one-v-one’s technically speaking, he can even shoot from distance.
“He’s a bit different with his skills, so he has to enter in our mechanism (tactics), because the team is now really well organised. Super organised.
“Coming into the team is not easy for players, it takes a bit of time to adapt.”
Bissouma manged to score six goals for Brighton in all competitions during his time at the Amex.
Incredibly, every single one was scored from outside the box.
It’s a record the Tottenham fans will be hoping he can maintain purely for entertainment reasons.
He strikes the ball clearly and tends to aim right for the corners, rather than beating goalkeepers with power.
Tottenham’s director of football will have watched plenty of clips of Bissouma before he signed for Spurs.
And it’s no surprise that Paratici has been impressed with his shooting capabilities based on his previous goals.
