'Here we go': Romano confirms Nuno Tavares is moving to Marseille
Fabrizio Romano has given Nuno Tavares moving to Marseille the here we go treatment on Twitter, with the journalist confirming that the Arsenal left-back is moving to Ligue 1 on loan.
It has been a turbulent few hours for Tavares. It seemed that the 22-year-old was moving to Atalanta. Reports claimed that the Serie A side were confident of sealing a loan deal.
However, a stumbling block emerged as talks continued. Atalanta hoped to agree a loan deal with an option to buy for the youngster. And it seems that those differences were irreconcilable.
According to Romano, Tavares is now set to move to Marseille. Crucially, Arsenal have made sure that they have no option to buy as part of the loan move.
And it seems that the move will go through imminently. Romano used the three words that essentially means that the transfer is definitely going to happen…

Romano confirms Nuno Tavares is moving to Marseille
Obviously, Arsenal have experience of sending a young player to Stade Velodrome. William Saliba spent last season on loan with Marseille as he was forced to bide his time before making his Gunners debut.
That spell proved to be a really important one for the centre-back. And he is now back in the plans at the Emirates ahead of the new campaign.
Tavares is an ‘exceptional‘ talent, but has got a tough task trying to force his way into Mikel Arteta’s plans. Arsenal now have Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back.
But there is an opportunity. Tierney, unfortunately, has rarely been able to avoid injuries. And Zinchenko’s future could lie in midfield.
So a good spell in France could certainly be a game-changer for Tavares.
