'Here we go': Romano claims Arsenal player will join new club tomorrow
Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Willian will fly to Brazil tomorrow to seal his move from Arsenal to Corinthians.
The Gunners appear to have stepped up their efforts to offload the 33-year-old in the final hours of the transfer window.
Obviously, it has been a torrid spell for the attacking midfielder at the Emirates. But he looked set to hand the Gunners a huge boost.
It was reported by the Daily Mail that he was ready to tear up his contract. That decision was set to save Arsenal around £20 million, with Willian currently earning £220,000-a-week at the Emirates.
But then there was a potential twist. The Sunday Mirror (29/8; page 66) reported at the weekend that AC Milan were set to make a move. In fact, they stated that they were looking set to sign him.
However, Romano has now suggested that the Rossoneri are set to miss out.
The journalist took to Twitter to confirm that Willian is returning to Brazil. He suggested that he will fly out to seal the move tomorrow…

Romano update on Willian deal may come too late for Arsenal in this summer, but deal will still be a boost
It would be amazing for Arsenal if Willian agrees to tear up his contract. A £20 million saving could make a big difference for Mikel Arteta’s side.
They may not be able to benefit in this window. But it is still a very welcome victory for the Gunners given how Willian’s first year with the club played out.
Unfortunately, it has not worked out for the attacking midfielder since his move. But he looks set to make an incredibly gracious decision.
