It looks like the end of the road at Aston Villa for one player this January, according to journalist Ashley Preece.
Steven Gerrard’s side have had a mixed start to the season, and currently find themselves in 15th place.
The Villains only sit a point outside the top half, and went into the international break on the back of a 1-0 win over Southampton.
Aston Villa made a point in the summer of improving the spine of their team in defence and midfield.

French international Boubacar Kamara joined on a free transfer at the start of the summer.
The 22-year-old was convinced to join ‘Gerrard’s project’, however this may now be on hold due to injury.
Kamara suffered a knee ligament injury against Southampton and had to withdraw from international duty.
Gerrard also brought in Leander Dendoncker from Wolves to enforce his midfield options.
However, there’s one player who could be on his way out in January, as Morgan Sanson has been tipped to leave Villa.
Sanson could leave Aston Villa in January
Preece provided an update to Give Me Sport on Sanson saying: “Yes, I think it’s all looking towards that (Sanson leaving).
“Gerrard gave him the green light to go out and find a new club in the summer window, but a move wasn’t forthcoming.
“I think he will head out.”
Sanson joined Aston Villa from Marseille for £16 in January 2021.
In that time, Sanson has managed just 20 appearances for the Midlands side, making only six starts.
There were reports that Sanson had impressed Gerrard during pre-season, and didn’t end up leaving the club in the summer.

However, Gerrard has had no interest in playing the Frenchman this season, with Kamara, John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey his chosen midfielders.
Kamara’s injury could have offered Sanson an opportunity to impress Gerrard.
However, Gerrard instead decided to introduce Douglas Luiz ahead of Sanson, and Dendoncker came off the bench too later in the match.
It’s hard to see where opportunities are going to come from for the Frenchman now.
It would be no surprise to Aston Villa fans to see Sanson leave the club in January.
