Newcastle United defender Sven Botman has admitted that manager Eddie Howe shouts at him so much in training he sometimes thinks he ‘hates’ him.
The Dutch defender was speaking to the club’s official media ahead of their meeting with Everton.
Botman has settled into life fantastically at St. James’ Park, and has already earned the nickname ‘Rolls-Royce’.
The 22-year-old has yet to lose a match since arriving in the summer for £35m from Lille.
He’s admitted that Howe has been ‘pushing everybody to the limit’, and the results are starting to show on the pitch.

Few teams keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford, and Newcastle managed it on the back of two huge victories over Fulham and Brentford.
Botman has admitted that Howe shouts at him in training a lot, but he’s always trying to help the squad.
The Athletic previously reported that Howe has had to play Botman more than he initially wanted to when he joined.
The former Bournemouth manager is likely to have wanted to work with Botman more before introducing him to the Premier League.
However, the young Dutchman has stepped up brilliantly when called upon by his manager.
Botman: ‘Of course he shouts at you’
Botman was very positive about his new manager, despite suggesting that he sometimes thinks he ‘hates’ him.
“He’s really pushing everybody to the limit. What he’s about is helping each other and him helping the team get to a higher level, and the club to a higher level,” Botman said.
“His way of doing it is just a really positive thing for everybody.
“Sometimes, of course he shouts at you and you think he hates me, but it’s all about helping you when he really gets to your mind.
“We’re able to do things that maybe you didn’t think you could do, I’m really pleased with him.
“He’s really passionate, but everyone is.”

Botman will be hoping to add to his eight-game unbeaten run in the league this evening.
Everton have struggled in front of goal this season, and Botman will be hoping to add to their woes.
The 22-year-old might even have one eye on next month’s World Cup is he keeps putting in impressive performances.
He’s yet to be capped by Louis van Gaal, but performing week-in, week-out in the Premier League will certainly grab his attention.
