After returning from a lengthy absence from Mark Jackson’s side, Crysencio Summerville has proved to be one of the standout performers in Leeds United’s under-23s in recent weeks.
The winger seems to have taken a little time to get going following his £1.3 million summer switch (fee reported by The Sun). But he is now standing out amongst a side that looks seriously exciting week-in, week-out.

He scored a hat-trick away at Burnley last month. And there have since been a number of flashes of brilliance from the 19-year-old, including on Monday as Leeds beat Sunderland.
He appears to be staking a claim to be on Marcelo Bielsa’s radar. And perhaps following the win over the Black Cats, it may be fair to say that the teenager is now slightly closer to that first-team debut.

Leeds were dealt a blow in the win. Ian Poveda had to be taken off after sustaining a nasty looking injury as the winger made a challenge.
It remains to be seen how long Poveda is out for. But there was an ominous sign on Tuesday. He posted a photo of his leg on Instagram. And in the background were crutches and a protective boot.
Leeds will be hoping that Poveda is back swiftly. But Summerville could arguably be the biggest beneficiary should his teammate spend any significant period on the sidelines.
The Dutchman should certainly be able to expect more minutes for Jackson’s side. But he must surely also be an outside contender to replace Poveda on the Leeds first-team bench.
Summerville offers frightening pace. And like Poveda, he always appears to bring his box of tricks out onto the pitch with him.
Poveda has been something of a wildcard for Bielsa this season. And if he is now set for a stint on the sidelines, Bielsa should consider promoting Summerville and making him the ace up the Leeds boss’ sleeve.
