Report: Anderlecht set to seal loan move for Man City's 'good player' who Guardiola saw as a first-team option

Anderlecht are close to completing a move for Manchester City ace Taylor Harwood-Bellis, according to Het Laatste Nieuws.

According to the publication, the youngster has completed a medical to join the Belgian giants. He’ll join the club, under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, on a season-long loan.

However, there isn’t an option to make the move permanent with City ‘believing’ in his talent.

The ace spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers. He featured 19 times in the Championship, helping Rovers finish in 15th place. Prior to his move to Ewood Park, the 19-year-old made four appearances for the first team.

Pep Guardiola once claimed he saw the defender as a first-team option. Meanwhile, Tony Mowbray labelled Harwood-Bellis a ‘good player’.

TBR View: Move can help Harwood-Bellis follow Foden’s footsteps at Manchester City

A move to Anderlecht can help Harwood-Bellis follow in the footsteps of Phil Foden at Manchester City.

The youngster’s rise to prominence has been quite sensational under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. And despite the fact, he didn’t have a loan spell he had various club legends to learn off.

Harwood-Bellis faces a similar situation next season as he learns from the best centre-back City have ever had. Kompany’s time at the Etihad Stadium was laced with quality, making him the best teacher for the youngster.

Meanwhile, consistent first-team football is the best way to gather experience especially in European leagues.

One City youngster has already shown how good a loan move to Anderlecht can be. Lukas Nmecha scored 21 times in 41 appearances for the Belgian outfit. It helped him secure a permanent transfer to Red Bull Leipzig.

However, with Harwood-Bellis highly rated by the Citizens its seems a permanent move away is unlikely.

This upcoming season is a massive campaign for the defender, who will look to impress ahead of a potential move up to the City first-team.
