Darwin Nunez is the name on everyone’s lips when it comes to strikers in Europe, and interested Premier League sides such as Liverpool and Tottenham face a massive fight to land him.
A host of English clubs are thought to be keen on signing Nunez. Arsenal and Tottenham have been credited with holding an interest, while Fabrizio Romano has claimed the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are both in the mix as well.
However, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent, Nunez is now also wanted by what he describes as ‘half of Europe’. Writing in his latest Reading The Game newsletter, Delaney claims that Nunez is being courted by the biggest clubs in Europe.

His goal record – Nunez has more than 30 this season – has caught the eye and it’s little wonder clubs like West Ham tried to sign him in January. Now, though, any potential suitors will have to battle Europe’s elite, meaning Benfica are likely to stick to the £65m or so they value Nunez at.
Nunez has scored twice against Liverpool stopper Alisson already and former Reds defender Jose Enrique has urged his ex-club to sign the Uruguayan star.
TBR’s View: Whoever Gets Nunez Is In For A Treat
It’s no surprise that Darwin Nunez is a wanted man. His performances and goals for Benfica have been one of the standout things in Europe this season.
He is enjoying the sort of rise some of the best strikers to come from South America have enjoyed in Europe. The likes of Aguero, Suarez, and Dybala have all enjoyed success and Nunez is on his way to emulating them.
Whoever gets Nunez this summer is onto a winner. He is an almost guarantee of goals, and while he might cost a fair bit, you have to think it will be money well spent.
