Jose Enrique has urged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica this summer.
The Reds may need a new number nine before the start of next season. Roberto Firmino will enter the final year of his contract, while Divock Origi is set to walk away for free in July.
Even though Liverpool have Diogo Jota, they may have to bring in another top-quality forward, and they have been linked with quite a few players already.
One of them is Benfica’s Nunez, who has scored twice against Alisson in the Champions League already this month.
Jose Enrique wants Liverpool to sign Darwin Nunez
Nunez is on the radar of multiple top clubs across Europe. He has been absolutely sensational for Benfica this term, having scored a staggering 32 goals in all competitions already.
Liverpool fans got to witness the 22-year-old Uruguayan in action against their side twice over the last 10 days and we must say, he impressed in both games.
Enrique, who kept a close eye on the two legs, was blown away by how good Nunez was. He wants the Benfica man at Anfield next season.
“What a player this guy is and is only 22. Darwin Nunez. I really hope Liverpool (will) do something about him because he is going to finish in a top team (if the Reds don’t sign him),” Enrique wrote in his Instagram stories.

TBR View:
If Liverpool want a new striker this summer, there aren’t many better options available on the market than Darwin Nunez.
The Premier League is on a completely different level compared to the Portuguese top-flight and Nunez will probably not come in and score over 30 goals here in England.
However, he’s still only 22 and has the potential to be a massive player. He has proved his worth against the biggest sides in the Champions League as well, which makes him a really attractive option.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out but one thing’s almost certain, Nunez will leave Benfica this summer.
