‘Great atmosphere’: £40m Arsenal target was very impressed with the Emirates Stadium last night

Reported Arsenal transfer target Cody Gakpo got to experience the atmosphere of the Emirates Stadium last night.

It was a slightly strange one in the sense that the game kicked off at 6pm, contributing to some latecomers and a different dynamic.

But Arsenal got their third 1-0 win in a row to keep their good run going and this season, the atmosphere at Arsenal has been the best since they left Highbury.

Gakpo’s PSV Eindhoven side came away from north London empty-handed, and the forward told Football.London that left him frustrated.

“Yeah, it was a great atmosphere and a good team,” he said.

“We tried our best, but we failed to get a result.

“It was a little bit frustrating instead of a real joy to play here.”

The piece also says that Gakpo has been a target for Arsenal for some time and he has been rated at £40 million if he leaves PSV.

In July, it was reported that Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of the Dutchman and he got to see him up close last night.

Arsenal made it four Europa League wins from four games and are already into the next round ahead of their game in the Netherlands next week.

Gakpo will again get another chance to score against Arsenal then, and it remains to be seen how many players Arteta rests for that one.
