Alasdair Gold has suggested in a Q&A on Football London that he would not be surprised to see Tottenham Hotspur go for Stephane Singo this summer should they look to strengthen their wing-back options.
Spurs’ full-backs have really thrived under Conte. It is easy to forget that the likes of Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon were all struggling for different reasons when the Italian arrived.

The jury is still out on Royal. But all three have shown much brighter glimpses in recent months. However, it would be little surprise to see the club target new signings in those positions this summer.
They have been linked with Djed Spence. But reports have claimed that they have been scouting Singo as he continues to impress with Torino.

And Gold has now claimed that he would not be at all surprised if Tottenham did indeed make a move for Singo in the coming months.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Spurs look at Stephane Singo, Torino’s 21-year-old right wing-back, who ticks a lot of boxes for Spurs, Paratici and Conte. Paratici likes a loan with an option to buy deal and I think he’ll be looking for plenty of those this summer,” he said on Football London.
Stephane Singo move would be ominous for Emerson Royal at Tottenham
Royal has been brighter of late for Tottenham. And Spurs now need him to step up. Matt Doherty is sidelined for the rest of the campaign due to injury.
But it would be a worrying sign for his future if Tottenham signed another wing-back to play on the right. Doherty has shown enough to suggest that he has a role to play in Conte’s plans beyond this season.
With Japhet Tanganga also in the fold, Royal may need to leave consider leaving ahead of next season.
The positive news is that the better performances may help Tottenham recoup a greater amount of the fee they paid for the Brazilian.
