‘Going backwards rapidly’: Some Everton fans not happy with links to £11m player

Everton are being linked with Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are not happy with the transfer news.

The Daily Mail reports that both Everton and Crystal Palace are considering moves for the 27-year-old before this summer’s transfer window shuts.

Rafael Benitez is reportedly keen on improving his midfield options, so the Villa player is on his wanted list.

Villa are against to selling Nakamba during this window. However, their Premier League rivals are set to try tempt them.

Nakamba, who’s been at Villa Park since an £11million transfer in 2019, wasn’t a regular last season. But, he’s shown potential during 42 Premier League games in two years.

The Zambian central midfielder massively helps his backline because of his defensive work. Also, he’s a left-footer that is progressive with his passing.

Everton fans uninspired by Nakamba links

A selection of Everton supporters on social media don’t view Nakamba as the kind of player that can really lift them.

The Merseyside club have been busy so far this window because three new faces have arrived.

Wide player Demarai Gray is now with the Toffees after joining from Bayer Leverkusen. In addition, winger Andros Townsend was picked up on a free transfer. Also, goalkeeper Asmir Begovic left Bournemouth to sign at Goodison Park.
