Gary Lineker thinks £140k-a-week Liverpool target is 'electric' amid reports Klopp is keen
According to 90min, Liverpool are sniffing around Heung-min Son’s situation at Tottenham as he negotiates a new contract.
What’s the story?
Well, the 91-cap South Korea international is yet to sign a new deal with Spurs.
Fabio Paratici is said to have made tying the 29-year-old down to fresh terms an immediate priority, as Liverpool circle.
90min believe Jürgen Klopp’s side – and also Manchester City – are huge admirers of the Tottenham No.7.
As a result, Tottenham are said to be growing slightly concerned about Son’s future.
However, Paratici’s initial chats with the £22m man have gone well.
Gary Lineker thinks he’s ‘electric’
One man who’s a huge fan of Son is Gary Lineker.
The ex-Tottenham striker and BBC Match of the Day host once described the direct Spurs forward as a player who’s electric on the field, and delightful off it.
You can see Lineker’s tweet in full below.
Congratulations to Son Heung-Min on scoring his 100th goal for @SpursOfficial. What a wonderful addition he’s been to football in this country. Electric on the field, delightful off it. 👏🏻👏🏻— Gary Lineker 💙 (@GaryLineker) January 2, 2021
Now, if Tottenham did end up losing Son to either Liverpool or Manchester City, it would be absolutely disastrous.
Nuno Espirito Santo is already facing a difficult situation with Harry Kane when the striker returns from EURO 2020.
In that respect, he certainly won’t want to handle the prospect of losing Son as well – both men are by far and away Tottenham’s best players.
If you put him alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, or Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez, we feel he’d become even more prolific.
