Report: Everton open talks with 'great manager's' representatives; European club have already reached an agreement
After leaving Lille at the end of last season, the manager entered into talks with Nice over their vacancy.
Talks with the Ligue 1 club are thought to be very advanced with an agreement in principle reached, claims the publication.
However, the Blues have not hesitated in showing interest in the Frenchman. The Merseysiders have entered into discussions with the figure’s representatives.
Everything is still possible with regards to Galtier’s future, says BeFoot.
He enjoyed a brilliant campaign last year, lifting the Ligue 1 title with Lille. It was Les Dogues’ first league success since the 2010/2011 season, and the first of Galtier’s career.
He was labelled a ‘great coach’ by Nicolas Pepe.
TBR View: Galtier would be a dream manager appointment for Everton
Carlo Ancelotti’s departure last week signalled Everton’s fifth search for a new manager in less than two years.
The Blues have experienced extreme unstability caused by the inability to pick a solid manager.
However, Galtier would wash away those fears if he is appointed by Everton.
Despite losing one of his key defensive players last summer, he still managed to lead his former club to the league title.
Gabriel Magalhaes featured in 24 of the 28 league games as the club finished in fourth-place. However, his performances saw him earn a move to Arsenal.
It didn’t hamper Galtier’s progress as he simply replaced him with Sven Botman to sensational effect.
His style of play is also easy on the eye with the French side proving to be a flowing attacking team.
Everything points to Galtier being a superb appointment for Everton. His handling of mass sales and youth players led him to a league title with Lille.
And with the Goodison Park outfit harbouring European ambitions a man of the 54-year-old’s ability would be the perfect appointment.
