Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has given his verdict on whether or not Unai Emery’s Aston Villa could win the Premier League title this season.

Villa beat Arsenal 1-0 at Villa Park on Saturday evening.

So, what has Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus said about Aston Villa? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus on Aston Villa

Well, Aston Villa beat Arsenal 1-0 at home on Saturday evening. John McGinn scored the only goal of the match at Villa Park in the first half.

Villa are now third in the Premier League table. Unai Emery’s side are a point behind second-placed Arsenal and two points behind leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus was impressed with Villa, and the Brazil international has suggested that the Villans could challenge for the title.

BBC Sport quotes Jesus as saying: “Of course it’s the Premier League. It’s an amazing competition, so strong. Anyone can beat you no matter how strong your team is.

“They’re having an amazing season, good coach, good team, stadium, the way the crowd comes to support you.

“That’s football, they are there, they have confidence and they are playing good. We have to focus on us, that’s it.”

My View: Aston Villa are not Premier League title challengers

In my opinion, Aston Villa are not going to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

I do not think that Villa have as good and strong a squad as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City do.

City won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season. The Citizens have the best squad in England.

I believe that City are still the favourites for the Premier League title. Although it is Arsenal who are hitting the headlines, Liverpool are doing their job quietly and efficiently.

Villa are a force to be reckoned with under former Arsenal manager Unai Emery. Given how they are doing right now, I believe that they can challenge for the Premier League top four, but not for the title.
