Gabriel Agbonlahor urges Tottenham to sell 'too slow' 28-year-old now
Gabriel Agbonlahor says Tottenham need to sell Eric Dier, club captain Hugo Lloris and Emerson Royal.
Before Spurs face Manchester City tonight, Agbonlahor did a video for TalkSPORT where he was asked which players from both sides should be kept or sold.
When Dier, Lloris and Royal flashed up on the screen, the pundit said Antonio Conte needs rid of all three of them in due course.
Agbonlahor says Spurs need to sell Dier, Lloris and Royal
About Lloris, who has just retired from international, with reports swirling that Spurs want a new long-term goalkeeper, he said: “Make him get the ferry, not even fly him out. Mistake after mistake.”
On Dier, he added: “Sell. He’s too slow.”
There is apparently interest in Royal from other clubs, but he does not want to go and Agbonlahor said: “I’d fly him back to Brazil – if he’s Brazilian, I’m Spanish!”
Lloris remains Tottenham’s captain and first choice goalkeeper despite yet another mistake in Sunday’s north London derby, when he flapped at Bukayo Saka’s cross and sent it into his own net.
It remains to be seen if Fraser Forster will ever come in to replace him on form alone, but the Frenchman is testing the patience of some fans.
Dier has split opinion almost throughout his time at Tottenham, but his club form earned him a return to the England setup for the World Cup.
Royal is one of two right wing-backs apparently making it harder for Spurs to sign Pedro Porro this month, as Conte looks to once again try and rectify his issues in that area of the pitch.
