Fulham fans react as Leeds United reportedly eye midfielder Harrison Reed
Leeds United are one of a number of Premier League clubs reportedly keeping tabs on Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed. Reed has been one of a handful of Fulham players that have impressed over the past 12 months – and fans of the London club have reacted to reports that Leeds are keen.
Reed, 26, sat at the base of Scott Parker’s Fulham. He clocked up 31 Premier League appearances for Fulham last term – sparkling in the midfield. He, alongside Joachim Anderson, Alphonse Areola and Ademola Lookman have ended the season with pass marks. Now, Fulham are down, Reed might go.
The Mail claims Leeds want him. It is reported that numerous Premier League clubs are trying to sign Reed, with Leeds the only side that are named. The Whites are said to want a midfielder, one that can cover Kalvin Phillips in the holding midfield role. He has a contract at Fulham until 2024.
Fulham ace Reed would be a top signing for Leeds – but how much would he cost?
The Telegraph claim Reed cost Fulham £8million to sign permanently from Southampton last summer. If Leeds do come in for him, he is likely to cost a whole lot more than that – but he is exactly the kind of player Leeds need. The Yorkshire side need cover for Phillips, but one that can play as a six.
Reed is capable of that. Hard-working, ball-playing, intelligent. He is perfect for Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa and if the Whites can get him for around £12million, then Leeds have got to take a chance on Reed. Fulham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Leeds could sign Reed.
