Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target, Franck Kessie, has apparently stalled on a new deal with AC Milan in the first round of fresh contract talks.

That is according to Calciomercato, who suggest that Milan and Kessie have failed to come to an agreement as yet on a new deal, with his current contract set to run until 2022.

Kessie has been in fine form this year for Milan and has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months. Arsenal were credited with being interested in Kessie back in December, while Liverpool fans have also called on Jurgen Klopp to make a move for the midfielder.

And with Kessie’s talks now stalling somewhat, it could well open the door for Arsenal and the Reds to perhaps make their move.

The midfielder, known for his energy, dominance, and battling qualities in the middle of the park, would certainly fit in well with a number of Premier League teams.

Arsenal, in particular, are still looking for a new midfielder to partner Thomas Partey. Liverpool, on the otherhand, could need a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, who is set to leave the club this summer.

TBR View: Time to swoop for Arsenal and Liverpool is now

Whenever teams get wind of contract talks not quite going to plan, you get the impression the time has come for interested teams to make their move.

Ultimately, it will come down to money and while Milan will pay well, Premier League riches can often make a difference.

If Arsenal do have an interest in Kessie and if Liverpool can be swayed by fan opinion on the midfielder, then surely the time is now for either club to make their move.
