In Arsenal’s search for a striker this summer, it seems that RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is high up on the list.
It’s widely expected that Mikel Arteta will attempt to find a forward with a true goal-scoring instinct, something that doesn’t necessarily exist in his current squad.

Although Gabriel Jesus is a brilliant striker in his own right, and Bukayo Saka is now scoring a serious amount of goals out wide, a player who can put away the ‘easy’ chances would definitely help.
That will perhaps come at the expense of Eddie Nketiah, who is looking closer and closer to an Arsenal exit having not featured recently.
And that being said, perhaps Benjamin Sesko’s performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League last night proved why he may not quite be ready for Arsenal in the summer.
At 20-years-old, Sesko clearly has a ton of potential but his finishing last night proved that he would still be a ‘project player’ for Arteta.
And given Nketiah could definitely still improve as well, it’s debatable how much of an upgrade a move would represent.
That considered, one Leipzig star definitely proved he was ready for greatness last night.
Arsenal should buy Xavi Simons this summer, not Benjamin Sesko
Although he’s not necessarily the striker Arsenal want, Xavi Simons yet again proved himself as one of Europe’s biggest talents last night.
Although Leipzig lost against Madrid, Simons was causing so many issues for his opponents.

The Dutch international delivered an ‘electric’ performance, showing why he’s a better balance of potential and readiness for Arsenal in comparison to Sesko this summer.
Last night Simons played four key passes, dribbled past three opponents and won seven duels – remarkable stats for any game, let alone a Champions League night at the Bernabeu (Sofascore).
Admittedly, Simons being on loan from Paris Saint-Germain this season does make a deal a lot trickier, especially given the talk of a new contract there.
But that’s not to say that Arsenal shouldn’t demonstrate their ambition with a bid, after all they have also been credited with considerable interest in the signing.
Simons’ future is definitely one to watch, a versatile profile who would not look out of place at the Emirates at all.
That being said, Arsenal are said to be keeping tabs on another one of Europe’s top young talents.
