Tottenham visited Chelsea on Sunday looking to secure their first league win at Stamford Bridge since 2018.
However, they were forced to settle for a point after a controversial match that ended with both managers being sent off.

Speaking after the game, Kane praised the impact Tottenham’s substitutes made, and how important the squad is going to be going forward this season. “For sure. The squad is great, there’s great competition for places all over the pitch and great options off the bench to come and change the game.
“That’s what the players did today. Everyone is fighting and working to try and get in that team.
“If they are on the bench they are ready to make an impact, and I think over a long season like we have this year with the World Cup, we’re going to need everyone for sure.
“It’s really important that everyone makes an impact and for sure those boys that came on did that today.”

Three of Tottenham’s new signings came off the bench to change the game against Sunday, alongside Lucas Moura.
Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic were called upon by Conte to try and change the game.
Jamie Carragher praised Richarlison’s impact off the bench, saying he made a huge difference.

Bissouma and Perisic were being readied to come on with the score at 1-1, but Reece James put the home side back ahead to change the scenario of the match once again.
It’s a credit to both players that Conte didn’t change his mind after Chelsea scored their second goal and still brought them both on, and it paid off in the end, with Perisic delivering the corner for Kane’s last-minute equaliser.

Spurs returning to the Champions League and the unusual winter World Cup is going to make squad depth more important than ever this season.
It’s been a summer of upheaval at Spurs, with several first team players such as Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Tanguy Ndombele being told they can leave, while the club invests heavily in Conte’s preferred replacements.
The more players in the squad that Conte trusts the better, as rotation is likely to play a key role, especially for teams competing on multiple fronts like Spurs hope to this season.
