Jamie O’Hara has been speaking on Sky Sports News today and says Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is ‘one of the best’ in his position in the Premier League – and claimed he would get into Liverpool‘s side.

Hojbjerg bagged another crucial goal last night to secure Spurs three points in the 2-0 win over Everton.

The Danish midfielder has been in excellent form and has now registered three goals and three assists from central midfield this season.

The 27-year-old is arguably playing the best football of his career under Antonio Conte and O’Hara believes he’s up there with the best midfielders in the league.

O’Hara claims Hojbjerg is ‘one of the best’

Speaking on Sky Sports, O’Hara said: “I watch him play a lot and I think he’s fantastic.”

The former Spurs man was then asked if Hojbjerg would get into any of the top three sides’ midfields.

“Yes, he gets in Liverpool’s midfield. He gets in Manchester United’s midfield,” O’Hara said.

“Top six then. For me, he’s one of the best midfielders in the country.

“I think he’s underrated and what he’s doing at Tottenham goes under the radar because there’s other players in the team like [Heung-Min] Son, [Dejan] Kulusevski and [Harry] Kane that get all the plaudits. But he is brilliant.”

Hojbjerg has undoubtedly been in brilliant form this season and has stepped his all-round game up to another level under Conte.

Liverpool’s midfield woes have been well-documented this season, with injuries to Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara hampering Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Fabinho is also going through a slightly below-par run of form for the Reds, but is undoubtedly a top-class player.

On current form, Hojbjerg is outperforming Liverpool’s central midfielders but Klopp’s side are yet to click into gear this season.

As for Spurs, Conte will be hoping the Danish midfield enforcer can continue his brilliant form. There’s no denying that Hojbjerg has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League so far this season.
