'Final proposal submitted': Fabrizio Romano makes Fabio Vieira to Arsenal claim
Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira is reportedly on his way to Arsenal, multiple outlets have now revealed.
The Gunners are keen to bolster the middle of their park. The likes of Youri Tielemans and Arthur Melo have constantly been linked with a move to the Emirates, but it looks like the Gunners are about to surprise everyone.
Arsenal submit final proposal to sign Fabio Vieira
Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda first broke the news that Vieira is on his way to Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a deal to sign him.
Fabrizio Romano then tweeted that Mikel Arteta’s side are in advanced negotiations to complete a deal for the talented 22-year-old midfielder, who scored seven goals and provided 16 assists in all competitions last season.
The Italian journalist then followed up his initial tweet by saying that the Gunners have now submitted their final proposal to sign Vieira, and Porto are prepared to accept it.
“Arsenal final proposal submitted for Fábio Vieira: €35m (£29.9m) guaranteed plus add-ons. They will not activate the release clause for €50m but decided to negotiate with Porto. Porto are prepared to accept, once final details on the payment terms will be discussed,” Romano’s latest tweet reads.
Fabio Vieira is one of the most talented midfielders in the Portuguese top-flight.
A 16-assist season for a player before he even turned 22 is a sensational return, and after Liverpool were heavily linked with a move to sign him last month, it looks like Arsenal have won the race.
If the deal goes through as expected, Vieira will be Arsenal’s second summer signing after the arrival of Marquinhos from Sao Paulo earlier this month.
Gunners fans should be really excited about the prospect of seeing another Vieira don the famous Arsenal shirt.
