Report: Spurs want to follow up Yves Bissouma signing with £43m star who's like Bernardo Silva
Tottenham Hotspur have not wasted any time in bolstering their ranks this summer.
Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, and now they’re seemingly closing in on Yves Bissouma.
In addition, Tottenham are reportedly still hoping to land Djed Spence.
ENIC recently provided a £150million injection which Spurs can use to strengthen their team.
The likelihood is Tottenham are nowhere near done yet with their summer spending.
Now, a report from Portugal has claimed that Spurs are eyeing another top midfield talent.
Correio da Manha, via Sport Witness, claims Tottenham have set their sights on Fabio Vieira.
The outlet writes that the 22-year-old is one of the Porto players who’ve been standing out.
As a result, Vieira is now drawing the interest from Premier League clubs.
Tottenham, along with Manchester United, have reportedly been ‘following’ the Portugal Under-21 star.
Admittedly, it’s a fairly short report in Correio da Manha, but it’s exciting nonetheless.
Vieira is an incredibly talented player who has also been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal in recent months.
He already has 76 competitive appearances for Porto, registering 10 goals and 18 assists.
Indeed, 14 of those assists came in the 2021-22 Primeira Liga as he helped his side to the title.
“Great future ahead”
Vieira has also impressed for Portugal at youth level.
He was in the 2019 UEFA Under-19 Championship Team of the Tournament and was selected for the UEFA Under-21 Championship Team of the Tournament in back-to-back seasons (2020 and 2021).
Portugal U21 coach Rui Jorge described Vieira as a “very technically advanced player” with a “great future ahead” after helping his nation reach the 2021 final.
Fans on Twitter have compared him to some great players, including Bernardo Silva and Joao Moutinho.
In May, Record – via Sport Witness – claimed Vieira had a €50m (£43m) release clause.
Not exactly cheap, but hardly bank-breaking either, and for a player of his quality, a bargain.
