Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur fans might be able to get excited about another Brazilian talent soon.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on one of South America’s most exciting young players.

16-year-old forward Endrick became the youngest player to score for Palmeiras’ first-team last night.

He came on as a half-time substitute in the Brazilian top-flight last night with his side 1-0 down to Athletico Paranaense.

It took him just 14 minutes to make his impact, scoring a left-footed shot to level the scores and break the record.

Endrick wasn’t done there, giving Palmeiras the lead 10 minutes later to maintain his side’s lead at the top of the table.

The young forward’s goal scoring record is remarkable, having already scored five goals in four Brazil under-17 appearances.

He’s also scored six goals for Palmeiras’ under-20 side in just seven games, playing several age groups above himself.

Endrick becomes Palmeiras’ youngest-ever scorer

Romano provided an update on the wonderkid, saying: “16 years, 3 months, 4 days. Endrick becomes the youngest player in the history of Palmeiras to score a goal with the first team.

“Top European clubs are fighting to sign him. €60m (£52m) release clause into his contract.

“Born in July 2006 (!). Endrick, remember the name.”

It’s an awful lot of money to spend on a player as young as Endrick.

Arsenal fans will be hoping Edu can repeat the masterstroke he pulled off signing Gabriel Martinelli as a youngster from Brazil.

Football London reported that Arsenal were scouting Endrick earlier this year, and Gabriel Jesus is already a fan.

He’s not the only Palmeiras player Arsenal are interested in, with Danilo nearly joining the club in the summer.

Tottenham spent similar money to Endrick’s release clause on another Brazilian this summer.

Richarlison arrived from Goodison Park and has made a great impact, although his recent injury has coincided with Spurs’ recent poor results.

He’s already been impressed by Endrick, amid reports that they’re interested in signing him.

Endrick becoming Palmeiras’ youngest-ever scorer is unlikely to be the last record he breaks.

It would be a huge gamble for a Premier League side to sign Endrick this early in his career.

The potential benefits could be incredible though, and that might just tempt someone to break the bank for the 16-year-old.
