Fans laud Leeds' Mateusz Klich after international clash

A number of fans have taken to Twitter to laud Mateusz Klich as the Leeds United star impressed on international duty for Poland in their Euro 2020 warm-up clash with Russia on Tuesday.

Klich was making his first appearance since Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that he was being rested for the final two games of the Premier League season.

It has been a long campaign for the 30-year-old. He was outstanding in the opening weeks following the club’s promotion.

But he endured a disappointing run of form in the second-half of the season. There were concerns about what had happened to the midfielder.

However, Klich silenced his doubters emphatically in his final couple of appearances before being rested.

And he seems to have picked up where he left off on Tuesday as Poland faced Russia in a warm-up game ahead of Euro 2020.

He produced a delicious pass over the top of the defence for their goal in the 1-1 draw. And he came close to scoring from outside of the box before the break.

Plenty of fans have lauded Klich’s performance. Understandably, much of the praise has come from Leeds supporters.

But there were also comments from neutrals, with a couple hinting that he was the best player on the pitch in their eyes.
