Chelsea’s move for Victor Osimhen has dominated the headlines on deadline day.

Enzo Maresca’s side are still in for the Napoli striker, but to say it’s been a dramatic few hours on the Chelsea front would be an understatement.

Indeed, on Friday morning, it looked like Osimhen was set for a move to Saudi Arabia, but now, a move to Chelsea is back on the cards.

Speaking on his deadline day livestream, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing this Osimhen situation, and he says that one of his best transfer sources has been stunned by developments around the striker today.

Victor Osimhen situation has been crazy

Romano shared what his strong source has said about Osimhen.

“Today I got a call from one of my sources, from one of my best sources. A really important person in football. He said to me ‘in 25 years in football, I never saw a situation like this one with Osimhen. Not even when players were joining Barcelona or other big clubs.’” Romano said.

“He told me in this case it is super crazy. It is completely crazy. Trust me, people involved in the story don’t know where Victor Osimhen will end up, they don’t know.

“My feeling is there is a very good chance to see Victor Osimhen staying at Napoli, out of the squad. It’s shocking to me, I hope it doesn’t happen.”

Victor Osimhen situation is incredible

It has to be said that this Osimhen situation is incredible.

The player wants to leave Napoli, a move to Saudi Arabia was lined up, and now, a potential move to Chelsea is on the cards.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are juggling a move for Jadon Sancho, while looking to get rid of Raheem Sterling.

In terms of concrete movement, there hasn’t been that much happening on deadline day, but the rumours coming out of Chelsea have, as always, been a bit bonkers.

There could be a blockbuster end to this transfer window at Stamford Bridge.
