Arsenal have been linked with Viktor Gyokeres in recent months and speculation continues to do the rounds ahead of the summer transfer window.
For instance, The Mirror have previously claimed that the Gunners are keen on potentially signing the Sporting Lisbon forward.
More recently, X account Scouts Attending suggested that Arsenal had scouts in attendance for the derby between Sporting and Benfica last week.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Gyokeres, once again playing down interest in the Sweden international from Chelsea.
The transfer insider, speaking on CaughtOffside, said Arsenal are “keeping a close eye” on the Portuguese market. He previously claimed the Gunners are indeed keen on Gyokeres.

‘Let’s see what Arsenal will try to do’
This time round, Romano said: “They always want the entire release clause to let a player go when he is a superstar, like in this case with Viktor Gyokeres.
“I am sure they will ask for the release clause, €100million. This is what they did in January when some clubs started to enquire about the situation.
“I’m sure it is going to be difficult but I’m also sure there will be interest.
“From what I’m hearing in this case, Chelsea were already rumoured as a potential destination in January,
“But the information I got is that Chelsea never started a conversation for him in the January window, with Sporting or with the player.
“I think there is other names for Chelsea as priority, with Osimhen and others.
“Arsenal are keeping a close eye on that market [the Portuguese one] so let’s see what Arsenal will try to do or if some other club will jump into this situation.”
Viktor Gyokeres in stunning form amid Arsenal links
Arsenal could certainly do with bringing in a proven and clinical goalscorer to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Admittedly, the Gunners aren’t having any problems scoring at present, but against teams where chances may be more limited, a prolific targetman who knows where the back of the goal is would be ideal.
Gyokeres has hit the ground running in the Portuguese capital following his move from Coventry City for a reported £20million last summer. He has 32 goals and 11 assists from just 36 outings.
There will no doubt be a lot of interest in the 25-year-old, but Arsenal will fancy their chances of winning the race if they decide to make a move.
