Fabrizio Romano shares update on Arnaut Danjuma after Everton and Aston Villa transfer links
Fabrizio Romano claims that Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma really wants a move to the Premier League, with Everton and Aston Villa both keen to sign him.
Unai Emery will be eager to start building a squad at Villa in his image, while Frank Lampard will be desperate for reinforcements as he aims to keep the Toffees out of another relegation battle.
Both sides have been linked with a move for Danjuma over the past few days, with El Periódico Mediterráneo reporting that Everton are currently the most interested side in signing him this month.
Of course, Emery worked with Danjuma during his time at Villarreal and journalist Dan Bardell claims that the 51-year-old holds an interest in reuniting with the player at Villa Park.
Now, Romano has said that the 25-year-old is keen on a move to the Premier League as the race for his signature heats up.
Danjuma wants Premier League move
Romano has told Caught Offside that Danjuma wants a move to England, with Everton and Nottingham Forest also said to be keen.
The transfer insider says there could be other clubs involved in the race with the Dutchman eager to return to the Premier League after a brief spell in the division with Bournemouth.
Villa may have an advantage if they decide to move for Danjuma considering he played the best football of his career under Emery last season.
The ‘fantastic’ attacker bagged 16 goals for Villarreal during the last campaign and helped Emery guide the La Liga outfit to their first ever Champions League semi-final.
But as Everton are currently showing the most interest in signing the versatile attacker, Lampard will be hoping they can move quickly to secure a deal.
The Toffees desperately need reinforcements in the final third as they’ve struggled to find the back of the net this season. Danjuma has already netted six times this season, more than any Everton player has managed under Lampard during the current campaign.
The Villarreal star is said to be available on loan, which will be an attractive option for many Premier League clubs looking to strengthen their sides this month.
