Arsenal are yet to get off the mark in the summer transfer window, with no players having come through the doors at N5.
The Gunners were expected to be busy in the market as Mikel Arteta and Edu look for players to turn the squad into a Premier League title winner.
Arsenal have been busy on one transfer front, namely the Riccardo Calafiori deal. The Gunners have been in talks with Bologna over the player’s signature.
However, there hasn’t been much progress on that front of late, with talks appearing to have reached an impasse.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on the Calafiori to Arsenal situation, with another player also said to be the subject of talks between the clubs.

Riccardo Calafiori waiting for Arsenal as Jakub Kiwior not keen on Bologna move
Romano, taking to X on Thursday afternoon, claimed that Bologna have asked for Jakub Kiwior during talks with Arsenal for Calafiori.
However, the Poland international is “currently not keen on the move”, added the transfer insider.
Romano reiterated that Kiwior can leave Arsenal this summer on a loan deal with a mandatory buy clause.
As for Calafiori, he “keeps waiting for Arsenal”, added the Italian journalist.
Arsenal need to look over their shoulders
Romano hasn’t made it clear whether Kiwior’s reluctance to join Bologna is a key reason for the Calafiori talks being at an impasse.
The transfer insider reported earlier this week that both clubs were yet to agree on the payment structure for Calafiori.
“The issue is that Bologna want guaranteed money while Arsenal’s proposal includes add-ons structure to get to €50m potential fee,” said Romano.
“Despite what has been suggested elsewhere, there’s no ‘issue’ with Basel: they will receive 50% of the deal, that’s it.
“Bologna want €50m fixed exactly because they have to give over €20m to Basel, this is the point.”
However, with reports suggesting Real Madrid may enter the race for Calafiori after missing out on Leny Yoro, Arsenal need to start looking over their shoulders.
