The summer transfer deadline day has arrived, and Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich.

The Gunners are expected to be busy on Friday.

Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are in the market for two new goalkeepers, while Arsenal are open to strengthening their attack as well.

Coman’s name has come up recently, and Fabrizio Romano has revealed what he has heard while speaking about the rumour on Playback.

Fabrizio Romano dismisses Kingsley Coman to Arsenal transfer rumour

Arsenal have strengthened their midfield and defence in this summer’s transfer window, but they are yet to address their attack.

The Gunners have a solid first eleven, but even the most optimistic supporter will admit that their depth at the top end of the pitch isn’t great.

Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are the options on the left, while Bukayo Saka is the only man on the opposite side. Reiss Nelson can play on both sides, but he rarely ever gets minutes.

That’s why fans are urging Arteta and Edu to sign a new winger on deadline day, and Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Coman from Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman would solve a lot of problems for the Gunners because he can play on both flanks. His experience at the top level would be hugely beneficial as well.

However, Romano revealed late on Thursday night that the Premier League runners-up aren’t in the race to sign Coman on deadline day.

He said: “As of tonight, my understanding is that Arsenal are not in concrete negotiations for Kingsley Coman.

“We had many questions about this today, there were many stories in the English press, but what I’m told is that Arsenal are not in active negotiations for Kingsley Coman.

“Kingsley Coman, according to my information in this moment, is between staying at Bayern or going to Al-Hilal. These are the two options for Kingsley Coman.”

Arsenal linked with deadline day moves for two other wingers

Coman checks a lot of boxes on paper, but if Romano’s information is to be believed, Arsenal are not planning to sign him on deadline day.

However, Coman isn’t the only winger they have been linked to.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal have expressed an interest in Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United, but a move for the England winger is deemed to be unlikely.

Elsewhere, it has been revealed that Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling has been offered to Arsenal and the Englishman is even said to be willing to take a pay cut to join the Gunners.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal will make a move for either of them before the 11:00 pm deadline.
