Arsenal and Chelsea could be involved in a big transfer story late in this window.
The Gunners remain active on the market even though they have already brought in Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino after turning David Raya’s loan into a permanent deal.
Mikel Arteta’s current priority is a new goalkeeper to replace Aaron Ramsdale, who is on his way to Southampton, but there is another area of the pitch that needs addressing.
Arsenal are keen to sign a new wide player too before Friday night’s deadline, and they have now been offered a chance to sign a huge name.
Raheem Sterling’s agents offer him to Arsenal
Raheem Sterling has found himself in a terrible situation at Chelsea.
The Blues have banished him from the first team and have made it clear that he has no place at Stamford Bridge. He has even been told that he won’t play a single minute if he stays.
Sterling and his agents are frantically looking for a new club before deadline day, and they must have realised that Arsenal need a new attacker.
Arsenal insider Team News and Ticks has revealed that Sterling’s representatives have offered him to the Gunners ahead of Friday’s deadline.
They have also informed the Premier League runners-up that it is the ‘unbelievable‘ England international’s ‘dream’ to move to the Emirates and that he is ready to take a substantial pay cut to make it happen.
Arsenal have reportedly suggested the kind of salary they would be willing to pay if they sign Sterling, and the player’s camp is said to have accepted that.
Team News and Ticks said on their Patreon: “The inevitable link that we probably all expected. Raheem’s people have offered him to us they said it would be his dream move and he would be willing to take a very significant pay cut.
“We have told them a number we would be willing to offer in terms of wages and he is OK with that. His situation with Chelsea is incredibly messy with finances owed. They want him out the door permanently and we (and at the moment everybody else) don’t want to pay a fee for him.
“Given the way Chelsea operate, I’d be surprised if they terminated his contract (this is my opinion but it’s horrible from a PSR standpoint). This is a very, very tricky deal.”

What should Arsenal do with Raheem Sterling?
Arsenal definitely need a new forward before the window shuts.
The Gunners should ideally look for a backup to Bukayo Saka, but if they can find a player who can play anywhere across the front line, it would be a huge bonus.
Sterling, on a free transfer and for wages significantly less than the £325,000-a-week he is currently on at Chelsea, could prove to be an excellent signing.
Arteta has previously worked with Sterling at Manchester City, and if there’s anyone who can get the best out of him, it’s the Arsenal boss.
It will be interesting to see what will happen, but it all depends on how Chelsea will cut ties with him before Friday’s deadline.
