Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Raphinha, and Fabrizio Romano has just revealed that Spurs have told Leeds United they want to lodge a bid to sign the Brazilian.

Reports revealed yesterday that the Gunners had tabled their first offer to sign the talented winger, who has been brilliant at Elland Road since his move from Rennes two years ago.

In his debut season in the Premier League, Raphinha scored six goals and provided eight assists. The 25-year-old managed 11 goals last campaign as well, even though Leeds were really poor for most parts.

It is no surprise that Arsenal and Tottenham are keen to sign Raphinha, and Romano has the latest.

Raphinha could well be the most expensive transfer from a Premier League club this summer. Leeds reportedly value their star winger at an eye-watering £55 million – a fee no club has agreed to pay just yet.

Romano confirmed that Arsenal have indeed tabled an offer, but the Gunners’ first bid is not enough. Barcelona have been linked for months and have even agreed personal terms, but they haven’t met Leeds’ valuation yet either.

Romano claims new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has also explored the possibility of signing Raphinha this summer.

The big news, however, is that Tottenham have apparently informed Leeds United that they want to bid for the Brazilian, who now looks almost certain to leave Elland Road before this window shuts.

TBR View:

Raphinha is a sensational player and it is no surprise that plenty of clubs in the Premier League are keen to sign him.

A move to Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham would be a huge step up for the Brazil international, but he has shown over the last two years that he’s capable of having an impact against the biggest sides in the country.

Arsenal reportedly are the first team to make a move for Raphinha, but they have failed with their opening attempt. Tottenham have apparently expressed their interest now, and Spurs would love nothing more than to beat their North London rivals to his signature.

It will be interesting to see where Raphinha will end up this summer, but whichever team he joins will definitely be a lot stronger than they were last season.
