Liverpool burst into life towards the end of the transfer window.
Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili have arrived at Anfield towards the end of the transfer window, but, as of yet, it has been a quiet deadline day at Anfield.
However, as Liverpool have shown over the years, anything can happen on deadline day.
Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and Ryan Gravenberch are just a selection of late signings Liverpool have made over the years.
Things have been quiet so far at Anfield on deadline day, but according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his deadline day livestream, there could potentially be a defensive addition at Anfield before the end of the day.
Indeed, Romano says that he’s keeping the door open for a potential new defender incoming at Anfield right up until the deadline.
Defensive addition at Liverpool is possible
Romano shared what he knows about Liverpool’s plans.
“Any defenders to Liverpool today Fabrizio?” Romano was asked.
“At the moment, no. At the moment it is still quiet, but with Liverpool let’s see until the end. I would keep it open, yeah, because you never know. At the moment there is nothing that I am aware about,” Romano said.

Liverpool need a new defender
Liverpool have been linked with a new defender since the very start of the summer, but, as of yet, nothing has happened.
Fabrizio Romano said Liverpool were working on a centre-back months ago, but, as of yet, nothing has developed on that front.
Joel Matip still hasn’t been replaced at Anfield, and the Reds are shorter than they once were at centre-half.
The likes of Goncalo Inacio have been linked to Liverpool in recent weeks, and perhaps with just a few hours left in the transfer window the Reds could have one final trick up their sleeve.
Liverpool are no strangers to a crazy late deadline day move, and perhaps we could see one more incoming at Anfield before 11PM.
