Liverpool have been linked with Leny Yoro for a long time this summer, but now, he could be on his way to one of their biggest rivals.

Indeed, while Yoro has been strongly linked to both Liverpool and Real Madrid, it is Manchester United who appear to have stolen a march to sign the French defender.

Speaking on Playback, Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Manchester United have had a bid worth an initial €50m (£42m) accepted for Yoro.

However, this is far from a done deal as the player himself is still keen to join Real Madrid.

Manchester United have Leny Yoro bid accepted

Romano shared what he knows about Yoro.

“I wanted to explain what is happening with Leny Yoro, because it is a complicated case,” Romano said.

“What is going on with Leny Yoro? We will discuss this. We have many things to explain on this case on both Manchester United and Real Madrid’s positions on Yoro.

“Today, Manchester United had a bid, an official bid, accepted by Lille for Leny Yoro. Manchester United are negotiating for several centre-backs, there is Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, Jarrad Branthwaite.

“Today Lille have accepted a bid worth €50m plus add-ons for Leny Yoro. Is the deal done? At the moment no because Leny Yoro is deciding his future.

“After Liverpool being in contact with the player several times, Manchester United decided to go with an official bid in the last hours and Man United decided to go for an official bid for the player in the last hours and they got that bid accepted. €50m plus add ons, a big proposal for a player who is out of contract next summer.

“It is not a done deal at this point, why? Because the player has always given priority to Real Madrid. The dream of Leny Yoro is to wear Real Madrid’s shirt.”

Liverpool need to act now

Fabrizio Romano has previously stated that Yoro is Liverpool’s ‘dream’ signing, but if they want to get this deal done, they need to act now.

Indeed, the centre-back’s future is seemingly going to be decided soon, and with both United and Madrid seemingly ahead in the race, Liverpool need to do something drastic if they are to get this deal done.

There are bound to be some more twists and turns in this story before Yoro makes his move away from Lille.
