According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have held talks with representatives of a highly sought-after player on the continent.
With Euro 2024 now finished, Liverpool are expected to ramp up their summer business having made a slow start.
Joel Matip has now left Anfield upon the expiry of his contract so the club are expected to sign a centre-half.
With that said, Romano has reported that Liverpool have held talks with the agent of a very talented centre-back, who has a lot of admirers.

Liverpool held talks with Leny Yoro’s agent
Lille centre-back Leny Yoro, who has been labelled ‘one of Europe’s best talents’ per The Athletic, has been a hot topic of the transfer window with a number of European giants fighting for his signature.
Manchester United and Real Madrid seem to be in pole position at this stage but Romano has said that Liverpool held talks with his agent, via GiveMeSport.
Though, The Reds haven’t yet submitted a bid so it remains to be seen if they’ll match United’s £42m offer, which has been accepted by the French club.
There have been indications that Yoro would prefer a move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool also looking at Goncalo Inacio
Liverpool also have Goncalo Inacio on their list of targets, who has impressed for Sporting over the last few seasons.
The left-footed defender is viewed as the ideal replacement for Joel Matip, so at this stage, it seems they’re focussing their attempts on him rather than Yoro.
An attacker is also thought to be among Slot’s priorities this summer, with Crysencio Summerville linked in recent weeks.
The Leeds United wide player scooped the Championship Player of the Season award last term, netting 21 times whilst laying on 11 assists.
In other news, a pundit has been impressed by what Arne Slot has already done at Liverpool.
