'On Monday': Fabrizio Romano has just issued the very latest on when Liverpool fans might see Darwin Nunez
Liverpool are poised to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Fabrizio Romano has said that the striker could be in England as early as Monday.
We reported on TBR earlier today that Romano had said that a deal had been agreed, with the respected journalist giving his now famed ‘here we go’ to the deal. And adding further to that update, Romano has taken to Twitter to offer even more detail for Liverpool fans.
Romano says that there is only a medical left to complete when it comes to Nunez moving to Anfield, and that the player could fly to England on Monday to get all that sorted. The transfer guru also adds that a full agreement has been reached between both clubs and the agents of the player.
Liverpool’s big-money move for Nunez represents swift action from the club in response to Manchester City signing Erling Haaland.
Further, it means Jurgen Klopp has been backed by FSG to replace Sadio Mane. The Senegal forward is expected to move to Bayern Munich, as and when the German club come up with the right fee.
TBR’s View: Exciting Times For Liverpool Fans With Nunez Arriving
The revolving door that is top level football continues to give and take for Liverpool fans. On one hand, Sadio Mane is leaving and he’ll be a huge player to fill. His impact has been massive and he is a Reds legend.
But as one star leaves, another comes through the door. Darwin Nunez has goal machine written all over him and while he’s a different player to Mane, he should be able to fill the void.
Liverpool fans got a glimpse of Nunez twice this year in the Champions League. And if that was anything to go by, then they’re in for quite a treat in the coming seasons.
