Respected journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has given the famed ‘here we go’ for Darwin Nunez and Liverpool.
The Uruguayan striker has been the subject of interest all summer from some of Europe’s biggest clubs but it is Liverpool who has now won the race to land the forward. His 30+ goals last season put him firmly on the map and he’s now expected to sign for the Reds in a mega-money deal.

Speculation has been rife all week that Liverpool were leading the chase. Indeed, it appears they’ve had to beat off Manchester United to his signature and Romano has taken to Twitter just now to deliver the news all Reds fans wanted to here.
As can be seen in Romano’s update, Nunez is set for medical this weekend and a five-year contract has been agreed between club and player. It will see Liverpool pay around 100m Euros for the Benfica star.
The transfer fee will end up succeeding that which Liverpool paid for Virgil van Dijk and is further backing from FSG in the direction of Jurgen Klopp.
TBR’s View: Liverpool Can Celebrate Nunez Signing…Finally
Well, Liverpool don’t mess about do they. A week or so ago there was just talk of this deal getting done and now they’ve gone and got it over the line already.
Nunez will be a monumental addition to this Liverpool team. With Mane going, Firmino not as prolific as he once was, and super sub Origi also moving on, Nunez is the perfect signing.
As City sign Haaland, Liverpool needed to react and they have done just that here. Darwin Nunez should be a guarantee of goals for the Reds and their fans can now celebrate.
