Journalist Fabrizio Romano has relayed what Arsenal transfer target Martin Zubimendi said about being linked to the Gunners.
Reports have claimed that the Gunners are very keen on the defensive midfielder and that he has been close to accepting the offer from the club.
Zubimendi has a release clause of £53million. The Gunners are hoping that they can sign the Spaniard in order to add some better quality to their squad.
They surprisingly challenged for the title this season and they will not want to lose this momentum. Therefore quality new additions are key.

Arsenal target Zubimendi discusses links
The defensive midfielder has impressed for Real Sociedad this season. He has played in 31 La Liga matches and even managed one goal and two assists.
Speaking via Twitter, Romano reported that Zubimendi said: “I have never planned to leave Real Sociedad — I always say that.
“I love life here, at home, I’m so happy here. The value of this club are same as mine so I feel very good, I always said that I’m happy”.
No doubt this is an update you would not want to hear if you are an Arsenal fan. The 24 year-old is clearly highly-rated but he loves his club.
Arsenal were looking strong at the start of the season and for most of the campaign. Once they started to get a couple of injuries, they started to struggle for form.
You can understand exactly why the club want to strengthen. When you face a team like Manchester City for the title, you need a big squad to compete.
