Arsenal and Chelsea are two of the clubs that have been linked with Manchester City ace Julian Alvarez in recent weeks.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Gunners are willing to pay £70million to sign Alvarez from their title-rivals this summer.
Meanwhile, back in June, TYC Sports reported that the Blues were seriously considering a move for the 24-year-old.
Since then, Chelsea appear to have turned their attentions to Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion.
Fabrizio Romano has now provided the latest on Alvarez amid links with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid improve Julian Alvarez proposal amid Arsenal and Chelsea links
Romano has taken to X to report that Los Colchoneros have improved their proposal to Alvarez.
There is now a difference of just £1.7-2.6million between the parties, and the player’s agent is very much on the case.
Romano then reiterated Diego Simeone’s interest in Alvarez, plus Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
“Up to Alvarez and Atletico Madrid,” concluded the transfer insider.
Arsenal and Chelsea likely to miss out on Alvarez
Arsenal could certainly do with bringing in a new striker to help them convert the many chances created by their wide players and midfielders.
Likewise, Chelsea could do with improving their firepower as they look to kick on after a poor 2023/24 campaign.
However, it looks as though Alvarez is now Atletico-bound, and a breakthrough is just a matter of time.
Indeed, Chelsea’s interest in Omorodion – a player recently linked with West Ham United – hinges on the Liga side landing Alvarez.
Meanwhile, Arsenal probably won’t be done any more favours by Man City after Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus nearly won the Gunners the league in 2022/23.
