West Ham United could be on the verge of signing a striker likened to Erling Haaland for £25m this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.
Julen Lopetegui has been appointed West Ham manager following David Moyes’ departure and he will be keen to make his own imprint on the squad.
Evidently, there is a glaring need for a new striker to be signed and that appears to be Loptegui’s priority, as one seems to be nearing a move to the London Stadium.

Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion could be on verge of West Ham move
Journalist Antonio Ruiz told El Partidazo de COPE that a Premier League club have reached a £25.5m agreement with Atletico Madrid for Samu Omorodion.
Ruiz didn’t specify which Premier League club it was but El Desmarque named West ham as a possible destination for Omorodion.
The 20-year-old striker enjoyed a productive loan spell last term, netting nine LaLiga goals for Alaves, who finished 10th.
His promising performances earned him a debut for Spain’s under-21s in September and he has now scored twice in seven caps.
Samu Omorodion likened to Erling Haaland
According to FBref data, Omorodion is of a similar profile to Manchester City’s deadly forward Erling Haaland.
The 2004-born stands at 6ft 4 tall and has excellent physical traits paired with a keen eye for goal as he sits in the top 14 per cent for non-penalty expected goals compared to his positional peers across Europe.
Though, if West Ham are to sign Omorodion, it would be somewhat of a risk, particularly for £25.5m. He’s only had one full season in senior football and making the switch to the Premier League now feels a little premature.
Time will tell if Tim Steidten shares the same sentiment.
