Fabrizio Romano delivers update as Leeds reportedly eye two attackers
Fabrizio Romano has responded to a Leeds United fan when asked if the Whites are going to complete deals for Noa Lang and Matheus Cunha. The Yorkshire club have been strongly linked with both attacking players this summer. Romano replied, stating that Leeds certainly want to sign the duo.
Lang, 22, has caught the eye following a loan spell with Belgian side Club Brugge. Joining on a season-long loan from Ajax, he has scored 17 and created 11 as Brugge won the title. He is likely to complete a permanent deal to Brugge, but that does not rule out the Belgian club selling him on.
Brazilian ace Cunha – also 22 – is impressing in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin. A report from his home country over the weekend stated Leeds are intensifying talks, with a fee between £21.5million and £26million touted. Now, transfer expert Romano gave his verdict on both to a Leeds fan.
Which one do Leeds need most after Romano claim – Cunha or Lang?
Lang is an out-and-out winger and while his form has been sensational, he has done it in a league that is way below the standard of the Premier League. He is clearly a player with enormous talent – but he is likely to cost a similar fee to Cunha. The latter has been producing in a better league.
Doing it for a mid-table side in the Bundesliga is more impressive than Lang shining for the best team in Belgium. Lang is also best out wide, where Leeds have Jack Harrison and Raphinha. Cunha is suited to the 10 role – a position which requires strengthening.
Both are excellent, but Cunha should be first priority.
