Report details update on Leeds pursuit of quick £15m attacker at foreign club
A fresh update on the Leeds United pursuit of Matheus Cunha has stated that they are stepping up talks to try sign him.
Bild previously claimed back in May that Leeds were one of the clubs to register interest in the quick 22-year-old, who plays for German top-flight club Hertha Berlin.
However, a new report this week strengthens claims the Whites want to bring him to Elland Road.
According to UOL, the Yorkshire giants are increasing their efforts during discussions with Hertha to try sign their attacker. Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa personally wants him signed.
The report explains that Cunha joined Hertha in January 2020 for €18million (£15million). But, he’s now valued between €25million and €30million (£21million – £26million).
Leeds are looking at raiding foreign club Hertha, who have an extremely exciting youngster on their books.
Cunha scored eight goals and made eight assists in 28 games across all competitions last season, so is already making huge impacts at a young age.
In addition, the versatile forward has shown he can play as a number 10, striker or winger.
Can Cunha be a Raphinha-esque signing?
For Leeds, they’ve fallen in love with Brazilian winger Raphinha after his amazing debut season at Elland Road.
Brazilian compatriot Cunha may be cut from the same cloth.
The Hertha attacker could light up the Premier League because of his pace and trickery.
Leeds are certainly an attractive club moving in the right direction, so should be able to attract exciting talents like Raphinha.
