Fabio Paratici reacts to reports Tottenham want Marcelo Brozovic
Fabio Paratici has reacted to recent reports claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a potential move for Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic.
It was reported earlier this month that Spurs are battling the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for the Croatian.
Of course, his situation is under the microscope with his contract at San Siro only running until next summer.
And reports suggested that he wants £99,000-a-week to extend his stay with the Nerazzurri.
Inter’s struggles to agree fresh terms appeared to catch Spurs’ eye. But Paratici has now played down the notion that Tottenham could make a move by insisting that they have not even scouted the midfielder.
“There has never even been a poll, he is an Inter player,” he told the Trento Sports Festival, as reported by Calciomercato.
Hard to imagine Tottenham haven’t looked at Brozovic, despite Paratici comments
Spurs fans are becoming well-versed in understanding how Paratici approaches the transfer market.
It appears that he has a number of targets in the pipeline for every position. And he will seemingly keep his options open until the last moment.
With that in mind, it is hard to imagine that Brozovic is not on his radar. He knows Serie A probably better than any league in the world.
And Brozovic has been a stalwart in Italy’s top flight for a number of years.
The chance to sign him on a free transfer would appeal to most. So he is surely a player that Tottenham will consider at some stage.
It would be a fantastic statement to bring him to North London. Nuno Espirito Santo’s midfield arguably needs to be strengthened further.
And Brozovic would be a superb signing.
