One Arsenal player’s exit is now ‘imminent’.
The Gunners, led by Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar, have done a fair bit of work with getting players out of the door in this window already.
Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny were released at the end of their contracts, while Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have been sent out on loan. Youngsters like Mika Biereth, Amario Cozier-Duberry and Chido Obi-Martin have left Arsenal too.
The North Londoners, however, are not done just yet. A few more players are expected to be moved on in the coming weeks.
The latest on Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe transfer to Fulham
Emile Smith Rowe’s future has been up in the air for several weeks now.
The Englishman is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium. He is adored by everyone in and around the club, and fans have been desperate to see him succeed.
However, injuries have been really cruel to Smith Rowe since 2022, and that has resulted in him falling down the pecking order at the club.
After just 475 minutes of football in the 2023/24 season, Fulham have made a move to sign Smith Rowe.
The 24-year-old has entered the final two years of his contract, and he is at the stage of his career where he needs to be playing regularly.
Many people at Arsenal want to keep Smith Rowe, but it looks like that is no longer a possibility.
Charles Watts has revealed on his website that Smith Rowe is close to leaving Arsenal for Fulham in a deal that would eventually reach £35 million.
The journalist has claimed that there is still some work to do for the two clubs, but talks are ongoing and a transfer is ‘now imminent’.
He said: “But there is also significant outgoing news with Emile Smith Rowe close to sealing a move to Fulham in a deal which could eventually reach £35 million.
“Smith Rowe is with the squad in Los Angeles, but was an unused substitute against Bournemouth, with Arteta admitting afterwards that he had been left out due to ‘things happening in the background’.
“Discussions are ongoing between the clubs and there is still some work to be done on the deal, but the expectation is that Smith Rowe’s exit is now imminent.”

Arsenal may already have a Smith Rowe replacement
Smith Rowe didn’t play a lot of football at Arsenal over the last two seasons, but he was still a great option to bring off the bench for Arteta.
If the ‘extraordinary‘ Englishman does leave, Arsenal will have to think about a replacement, and they have been linked with plenty of names in recent months.
However, the Gunners could save millions with an internal solution.
Reports have revealed that Ethan Nwaneri is set to be promoted to the Arsenal first-team, and the youngster really impressed in the game against Bournemouth in LA.
Nwaneri is expected to get some minutes in the first team next season, and we think he could be the man to fill Smith Rowe’s shoes at the Emirates.
