Arsenal are in no mood for being messed about this summer and they’ve now told one of their top up and coming stars to find another club.

The Gunners are looking to bring a number of new players in over the summer window while at the same time, moving on players for decent fees.

The likes of Emile Smith Rowe could leave Arsenal, while Eddie Nketiah is believed to be open to a move to Marseille as well.

On top of all that, there is the fine balancing act of making sure the club can tie down their best young talent as well.

And after losing Amario Cozier-Duberry to Brighton, Arsenal are now set to lose Chido Obi-Martin to Manchester United.

However, while it looks like a poor look for the club from the outside, it appears that it was Obi-Martin’s entourage who have caused the biggest issue.

According to a report from Football Transfers this afternoon, there is more to it than meets the eye when it comes to Obi-Martin leaving the Gunners.

They report how Arsenal have had to hold their ground on the youngster after his agents and family asked for more money than the contract that was offered.

From there, Arsenal insiders are believed to have been less than impressed with things and instead of upping the offer, told Obi-Martin to move on.

As we have mentioned above, Manchester United appear to be the club most likely to sign the teenager at the moment.

For Arsenal, losing a top young talent will feel like a big blow.

Obi-Martin was on fire at times last season and was lauded by Jack Wilshere for being ‘unbelievable‘ after a five-goal haul.

“He was unbelievable again, and I’m proud of the whole club with him, the coaches at Hale End, and everyone. The work that they have put into his development goes unseen. Chido has improved so much; his hold-up play, playing back to goal, and the way he links and presses have improved massively,” Wilshere said at the time.

Arsenal, then, appear to have lost a talent who could well go right to the very top.
